Until 2013 Gunnar was the VP of development at Stampen Media Group, one of the leading media groups in Sweden and owner of both paid for and free newspapers in Sweden but also present in the areas social media, corporate publishing, outdoor advertising, events and printing plants.
Before Stampen Gunnar was the development director of Göteborgs-Posten (GP), a regional daily in south west Sweden and the country´s second largest morning newspaper. In that capacity he was responsible for the newspapers digital strategy and web + mobile development. Gunnar started as a journalist at GP and worked both as a subeditor and business reporter. In his early career Gunnar has reported from east and central Africa.
Gunnar has been the chairman of the Digital Media Committee of the Swedish Newspaper Publishers Association. He also was a member of the organizing committee of the World Newspaper Congress in Sweden 2008.
Internationally Gunnar was for many years the Swedish representative in the WAN-Ifra European Committee and global advisory council. He has also been involved in media management training in Vietnam and The Philippines. As a speaker at media events in Scandinavia, several European countries, India and Singapore, Gunnar has covered topics as newspaper production, mobile strategy and social media strategies.
