Fiona O’Carroll has been the Managing Director of the Digital Consumer Business at Independent News & Media (INM) since September 2013. In her role, Fiona will oversee the development and implementation of INM’s business activities across its growing number of digital platforms and driving the strategic development of digital consumer business.
The Trinity College graduate is a former executive at digital publisher Houghton Mifflin Harcourt and marketing director at software company Adobe.
Prior to this, she undertook the role of executive director at Digital Innovation working between Ireland and Chicago. There, she conducted strategy, commercial and fund raising execution for high growth companies across a number of online platforms.
Fiona also has experience as the Executive Vice President of Sales, Marketing and Product Development at Riverdeep; General Manager at Vivendi Universal Games; and Director of Sales and Marketing at Adobe.
Apart from her role at INM, Fiona is a Board Member of Dublin City University and Ryan Academy and a Mentor and Lead Entrepreneur at Going For Growth, an Entrepreneurship Support Initiative for women. She is also a Board Member at China HR, an online recruitment website in China, and Board Member at Camara, an organisation that uses technology to improve education and livelihood skills in disadvantaged communities.
Fiona has published a number of journal articles. She studied Leadership for Growth, Leadership & Business Management for Stanford University, California. She also holds a BSc in Marketing and an MSc in Business Management / Business Administration, both from Trinity College Dublin.
